About Stuart Haywood

I was born in Derbyshire, in the heart of England in 1953. My father was a coal miner, and my mother worked at several jobs to give my brother and myself a wonderful and secure upbringing. My affinity for all things artistic began at a very early age.  At sixteen, I toured with a band, and music dominated my life from then onward. However, in 2007 and getting too old for gigging, I decided to rewrite the novel Zoo, a concept that had been with me for over thirty years. Sadly my partner died in 2011 and my love of art took a plunge. Eventually I began to write again and found it was helping me through my grief.

I realise from your wonderful feedback that I made the mistake of publishing my early novels without professional editing. Thank you for seeing beyond that and bearing with me.
I try to write so that the reader can relate and empathise with the characters. They are simple, untwisting plots which I am told flow easily. I sincerely hope you enjoy my work. I thank you for taking the time to read this little insight, and welcome any feedback or comments you wish to submit. Please leave an email address in your text so that I can reply to you in person. I will reply to all your messages personally.

Kind Regards

Stuart

If you are a Country Music fan –

stuart in studio

I have been presenting a radio show now for over 3 years and thoroughly enjoying it. Music has always played a huge part in my life from performing and touring throughout the sixties until a few years ago – In the seventies I discovered Country Music when I first heard Merle Haggard. From that moment I was hooked and had a complete turn around – buying a banjo and playing bluegrass was another milestone for me, so when my touring days were over I accepted this new challenge – why not join me every Wednesday from 7 until 10 pm UK time. Go to elasticfm.co.uk and click ‘listen now’ on the Microsoft Edge or Fire Fox Browsers or download the Simple Radio app, or via the Online Radio Box or your streaming device. I also have a Facebook page – IN THE COUNTRY – I would love to welcome you as a member where you can post comments and put requests in – Look forward to seeing you on Thursdays – KEEP IT COUNTRY

Please feel free to email me : stuart@elasticfm.co.uk   I would love to hear from you

Just a quick request – if you do post on here can you please leave me an email so that I can reply to you.
